Life with a 15 month old and a 5 day old sounds like it would be complete madness, yet these guys made it look easy.
I spent the morning with the family as they made breakfast and got ready for a typical Sunday.

I’m so happy to finally be blogging this session!
Meet Li and family. We’ve been friends for over 4 years now but only just met in person a few months ago when they moved to Seattle from Utah. We met 4 years ago in an online forum when we were pregnant with our boys, my first, her 2nd. They just recently added Ellie to the family and I jumped at the chance to photograph the newly expanded clan. Enjoy :)

I thought I commented already, but I’m so in love with these, Ketti!! You did such an awesome job!
Way back in July I gave away a photo session for my birthday. The winner was Alyssa, who gifted it to her then-pregnant sister Stacie. Stacie and her husband Steve claim to be “the most un-photogenic people ever” which had me a little nervous at first. My first thought was, being totally honest here, that they must be ugly. I scoped them out on Facebook right away and of course they are not, they are gorgeous and have a beautiful family! As I told Stacie, I don’t believe people are un-photogenic, just uncomfortable in front of the camera. The laid-back session we had was intended to capture them as they are and their interactions with each other. There was no posing, no requests to smile for the camera, just an effort to capture them as honestly as possible.Baby Khloe made her debut 2 weeks ago and I was fortunate enough to travel down to Portland to photograph her and her beautiful family.

I wanted more of a fly-on-the wall type of session and was lucky enough to capture some, don’t know it you’d call it fun, but let’s say interesting moments, of life with a newborn. This involved lots of spit-up.
and a bath.

Love how you capture life as it unfolds. I adore that first shot!
Stacey’s new little girl has arrived! She has the coolest girl baby name ever. I can’t say it’s the best baby name in general, because I think my own little Knox Danger has a pretty awesome name, but for a girl, Freja Sailor is down right rad. She is such a beauty, I’m sure she’s already got daddy wrapped around her little finger!

I love these. Like little glimpses into their life, which are my favorite kind of sessions.
Maya was a little treat I got to photograph this week. This little pumpkin was born 4 weeks early and weighed in at a whopping 8lbs. I was touched by these new parents. Dan was so thoughtful of Heidi, I captured him giving her water and feeding her berries. They have been together since high school and still give off such a loving aura.It really was a pleasure to come into their home and capture their new family. Enjoy!

You guys look absolutely amazing! I know I have been absent of late, but I want to say congratulations and what a beautiful addition to your fantastic family. I can’t wait to meet little Maya in person. Take care and see you soon!Love,Ben
-
These are wonderful!! Gorgeous family and baby (love the wrinkles in that first shot)! Beautiful job!

Love those baby rolls in the first one! And those last two are amazing! If I were the parents, I’d have to print those puppies up big and hang them right together for everyone to see!
Three weeks have gone by in a blur. I’m already sad the first few weeks are gone and I’ll probably never have a newborn again. :(The sleeping newborn phase is ending, and it really showed me how important it is to take newborn photos within the first 10 days. Once they get older it’s just such a challenge to work with them and get the cute, curly sleeping newborn photos.
I’ve got my own little baby to torture with constant photographs now!Knox Danger Phillips was born on his due date, Sunday, October 18th, weighing in at 8lbs 12oz and a long 23in.I still haven’t had a chance to do a real photo session with him, though I tried. Figures my own would be my toughest newborn session so far! But in the meantime, enjoy his first photo!

Day One

Love this family. The final shot just says it all.
Beautiful, Ketti! You really showcased their love :)
What a sweet family. I love the one of mom looking down at her new baby girl!
Wow! Your photography is “art” in its purest form. No posing, no pretending, and no worrying about the baby throwing up on your blouse before the photographer arrives ;) This is real life … a moment captured that can be treasured for years to come. I think it would be awesome if they have this done once a year for the rest of these kids’ lives to see how the family evolves. I’m telling everyone about your business. You’re a genius.
These are just amazing Ketti, love.
These are so tender and pure. Love them.
