Super excited to share these photos. These guys I know well – my cousin and cousin-in-law (?), and baby on the way.
I went down to Olympia to hang out with the expectant parents for a bit and poke around with my camera.

See that cradle there? That thing is near ancient and has been in our family, cradling almost all of our family’s newborns (13 cousins), since my older brother was born. We were in it, our kids were in it, and now Ryan’s will be as well.

Cannot wait for the little guy to make his debut. Good luck, guys! You’ll be the coolest parents.

ah, Ketti these are perfect!! I love the way you see things, so refreshing and real. Gorgeous couple too! I hope you are photographing their newborn session too! xoxo

I love this! The last four are my favorites, especially the ‘tree chair’ photo. I love the well loved cradle as well.

Lovely job, Ketti! I really like the ones of them together outside…she has such a beautiful smile!

  • Lynda says:

Ryan reminds me of your grandpa Bob. You can definitely see the Tiedeman in him.

    So beautfiul, precious real moments!

Oh My Goodness! I love these- THEY ARE AMAZING- Once again Ketti you have out done yourself! What a fun day, climbing on mud flats and falling down cliffs – all in the name of good photography. I love the candid ones that we did at the end with Ryan and I laughing on the trail, and the ones of us on the bed- ALL OF THEM ARE AMAZING: from us walking on the beach, to the tree, and those shots on the stairs! You do such an amazing job! WE LOVE YOU :)

LOVE the ones in the woods and the one on the bed brings back memories of waiting for our first :)

Gorgeous, fun family. They’re expecting a new addition any day now. Like, any day. I was almost expecting this little guy to come the day after, the way he was treating his mama during the session!
On a side note, I’m seriously smitten with Stephanie’s accessories. It’s been a week and I still want to copy her and get myself a bracelet and feather earrings like her. Would it be weird to pin my own photo so I remember it next time I do some shopping?

I have been wanting to do a session in a diner or some sort of fun shop for months now and Stacey was up for it. Yay! We had planned on taking her family out for a scoop of the best handmade ice cream in town. Come Saturday and Seattle’s first official day of sunshine in 2 months, everyone had the same idea. After switching up our location to make sure we got some great images, we headed over to Molly Moon’s and waited in the longest line I have ever seen for ice cream. I was drooling over the scent of those waffle cones! We also horsed around in Archie McPhee’s, where she so graciously donned a horse mask for me.Stacey has been a great client of mine. It was just last year that I did her maternity and newborn photographs for her second baby, and now here she is awaiting her third, a little girl. I’m so stinkin’ excited for her! As a mother of 2 boys with no plans for a third, I have somewhat mourned the fact that I won’t have a daughter of my own. I love my boys, don’t get me wrong. I LOOOOVE them. And absolutely love being the mother to two. When I see other mom’s of boys I like to observe them, in a very non-stalkerish way, and picture myself and my boys at those ages. It warms my heart to no avail. Yet still, I guess I have a dream of having a daughter to shop with or french braid her hair… Having the opportunity to watch this family as they await their daughter is a good fix. I can’t wait to photograph her. Maybe she’ll have enough hair for a teeny tiny braid…20100508_StaceyMat_0011stacey horseheadstacey-photo booth20100508_StaceyMat_017020100508_StaceyMat_0175

  • Love these! How fun!!! I love that they are so different than her last maternity pictures, what a great idea :)

  • What perfect moments you captured Ketti! Absolutely love the photo booth and the horse head! You are so stinkin’ creative. That momma is just beautiful …. she must be thrilled with the pics. :)

Love these Ketti!! It looks like they had so much fun! I love that you make a seemingly ordinary family outing into extraordinary images that they can cherish forever. These are the images that will bring back wonderful memories! She looks fabulous and I can’t wait to see the newborn images!

  • Cherron says:

Oh, these made me giggle! I looove them. The photobooth section is my favorites, but I love the horse head, too. Just so fun. And how adorable is the little guy digging into the ice cream!

  • melissa says:

So fun Ketti! And I’m proof that going for #3, and #4 doesn’t necessarily get ya a girl, LOL! :) But like you, I wouldn’t change it for anything!

  • These are great Ketti! I looove the photo booth shots! Very creative.

  • Angela says:

KETTI! THese are fabulous!!! Wonderful, fun shoot…awesome!

  • [...] Stacey’s new little girl has arrived! She has the coolest girl baby name ever. I can’t say it’s the best baby name in general, because I think my own little Knox Danger has a pretty awesome name, but for a girl, Freja Sailor is down right rad. She is such a beauty, I’m sure she’s already got daddy wrapped around her little finger! [...]
