Meet Delia. She’s my assistant for my handbags and helps me out tremendously. Her boyfriend of several years just left for the Philippians where he’ll be living for the next two years. He really just left- the morning after the session. We were lucky to squeeze this in at all, and the weather, well, I guess it just reflected the mood. It was supposed to be sunny and turned gray, misty and so cold, yet so beautiful. I love the quiet and stillness of it all.
It was an honor to photograph them before this huge change, and I wish them all the best.

Let me tell you a little about Nate and Ann.
They met in the 5th grade and he’s been pursuing her ever since. He finally popped the question a few months ago in San Francisco. They’ll be getting married in April back home in South Carolina. Their little dog Atticus tears the stuffing out of his toys hours after getting them. They also happen to be friends of ours – my husband and Nate work together and they are mandatory guests at all of our dinner parties.
It’s weird photographing people I know, it feels more invasive than photographing a stranger. Perhaps my nerves are higher because I know if I screw up I’ll still have to see them after the fact. Either way, they were really great to work with and were beautiful and genuine in front of the camera. Congratulations you guys. See you at our birthday bbq in a couple weeks :)

Meet Ryan and Jackie. They are getting married next month. Ryan just so happens to be my cousin. Some of you may not know, but I moved to WA from CA about a year and a half ago. These two had already made that move two years prior and they are the only family we’ve got (excluding a few extended relatives) in the state. Thank goodness they are fun to hang out with, because when holidays roll around, it’s us and them.Their engagement session has to be the funnest session I’ve ever had. They came prepared with some costumes and wacky ideas, and were up for anything.Let’s just get to the goods, shall we?

We finished up the session at an Irish pub. Great way to end the day.
These are some of the whack-a-dos of the day. The stretching photo is all their idea, and I’m kinda jealous of that. So fun.

[...] Ryan and Jackie entrusted me with capturing their wedding in Centralia, WA last month. This was the first time I have photographed a wedding, so they were really going out on a limb with me. The wedding and reception were a blast, and I’m so happy for the two of them! I feel like gushing, but I think I’ll just share a few favorites from the big day. [...]

Ketti, these are just stunning!!!!
Gah!!! completely fabulous Ketti! I absolutely LOVE the feel to this session, it really is lovely! Her hair is fabulous!
These are great, Ketti!! Love these.
Wonderful captures! Such a gorgeous couple, and they are so cute together! Great job!
These photos are beautiful. It’s hard to be left behind, just as hard I think as it is to leave for two years. I wish them the best of luck, and peace! My sister-in-law is more than halfway done with her boyfriend gone for two years, and she says it’s been flying by! It can be done!
Gorgeous session Ketti! It’s just how I remember it, makes me miss Whidbey.
oh ketti … once again an earthy, organic and soulful session. will you photograph us one day??

I love these shots! They are so full of emotion. You couldn’t have captured the moment any better.
I love the tone of these images. What actions are you using, if you don’t mind me asking. I love them! I’m just in love with photography and I am always wanting to learn more.
I always adore your perspective Ketti, so fun and fresh.
Love. Love. Love. I would love to see through your eyes.
