They say summer doesn’t officially start in the Pacific Northwest until the 4th of July. Last year it never really started at all, but it held true this year. The 4th was the first gorgeous, warm and sunny day in a while, which we spent doing a whole lot of nothing in the backyard. The husband spent all day smoking ribs, we finally got our party lights hung up and I’m kicking myself for not doing so years ago – it makes the backyard so much funner – went on a jaunt through the woods with the boys, had some firework fun, watched the city firework show and crashed late at night.

Ketti, Awesome job!! I love your backyard photos! Such amazing light and colors. What a beautiful day you had.
really lovely images with summer written ALL over them. love the worn out little boy in bed – i know how that goes :)
Beautiful post! I love your eye and your style!
Sounds like a great day! Love the sparklers. We didn’t do any fireworks this year. Lame.
I just love simple summer days like this. Hikes, playgrounds, sprinklers, and fireworks — perfect summer fun. Beautiful work!
Summery and beautiful! Love each of these, but those shots in the grass so speak to me.
it aint a party without party lights! that sprinkler shot has got the magic fairy dust of summer all over it :)
