I’ve got my own little baby to torture with constant photographs now!

Knox Danger Phillips was born on his due date, Sunday, October 18th, weighing in at 8lbs 12oz and a long 23in.

I still haven’t had a chance to do a real photo session with him, though I tried. Figures my own would be my toughest newborn session so far! But in the meantime, enjoy his first photo!

My last session before my maternity leave was this lovely family. They have a new little guy, 4 week old Mason, and handsome big brother Michael. They kept me on my toes with some great ideas and lots of fun. Somehow I managed to forgot that I was 9 months pregnant, keeping up with them. It caught up with me later, though! My back was hurting the rest of the day!

This is my last session for a while, as I get ready to welcome my own new addition. Be prepared to see lots of newborn pictures in the coming weeks! I will start booking a limited number of sessions in late November/early December, and will return to business as usual in the new year.

I have to say, I had so much fun photographing this family. Neil & Jenn are great people and were very comfortable in front of the camera. The session was at Farrel-McWhirter Park which has a great mix of locations – open fields, farm animals, wooded trails, etc.

Jenn is the 3rd of a great group of friends who I have recently photographed. They became friends when they had their daughters almost 3 years ago. It made me really miss my friends back in California… We were a similar group, with boys the same age, lived in the same town, and share the same passion for photography.  Luckily the internet keeps us in touch, but I sure do miss those playdates!

You may remember this family from a few months ago. It was fun to revisit them and see how much the girls have grown, especially little Quinn. We just started getting some rain (buh-bye, summer!) but it held off for a nice morning in the park.

It was hot yesterday – I was uncomfortable, my son wouldn’t take a nap… So I filled up a toy bucket with water, turned on the sprinkler and let him have at it.

You’d think after living in Southern California my whole life, I could handle the heat. It’s my first summer here and last week was not kind to Seattle! Sure, 100+ degree weather is nothing in CA, when you live indoors with central air. Here, not so much! No a/c plus being 7 months pregnant means heat is NOT my friend.  It was starting to cool down by the time this morning session rolled around, but even though it was in the 70’s, being in the full sun and running around with these two kids wore me out and made me sweat! It was so worth it though.

Bella and Max are super adorable kids with AMAZING lashes. I just loved Bella’s little British accent too. I’m having lots of fun editing this session, so it may be a while before I give the family their gallery! I’m too busy playing with the images

Newer, better, cuter, awesomer!

I’ve had a nice summer break and have been concentrating on my etsy business as well as working on my blog. This is not only better looking, but more organized as well, with tags and categories. I’m still playing around with it so don’t be surprised if it changes next time you look at it. There is a new session I’m working on and should be posting in the next day or two, so keep your eye out!
